Reasonably priced ready made rigs

Hi,
I have been using the 'Rockhopper' Pulley Pennel clip-down rigs purchased from www.tacklebargains.co.uk . They were designed and used by Ed Schliffke (the 'Rockhopper' who supplies Rick Stein with some of his rod-caught fish). They are available in 6 different hook sizes and come in well presented packs, costing just £4.99 for 6. I have been very happy with them and the Dungeness whiting certainly like em - I'm hoping the cod will when it gets a bit colder!

seems cheap enough, i would buy 1 and copy it, you can knock a pennel pulley rig up in a couple of minutes
and its a better feeling when you catch on a self built rig

Hi Joli and Aston,
A few years ago I would have made my own, but I am now 66 and apart from some arthritis I have developed cubital tunnel syndrome which means I have very little feeling in my little fingers and ring fingers (both hands). I struggle a little with my grinner and albright knots etc., so would no doubt end up hooking myself if I tried to make my own rigs LOL! Therefor I was very happy when I found good ready made rigs at cheapo prices.

If you need any specific rigs, then I and my 2 lads will make them for you at cost as the both are dab hands at making them I'm 68 but fortunately I have no problems with hands. I do not make them normally for re-sale as I don't run any kind of business.

Hi Keith,
Thank you so much for your very kind offer but, at present, I have good supply of rigs that should last me a long while. My problems are very minor compared with what some people have to live with, but I thought that the risk of clumsily hooking myself was not worth it, when good quality rigs are available at reasonable costs. However, I will bear your kind offer in mind should I require any specific rigs in the future. So many. many thanks.
I have spent a lot of time reading the forums on this website over the past week or so and reckon that I have learnt far more than if I had read a whole shelf-full of fishing books. A really great resource with very helpful and friendly members.
