hi,
fishing is a real good way of escaping the house and just getting out. we started up fishing again only last year\ and have become real hooked with numerous trips to the beach and quite a few fish caught!!!
best thing that i have taken up in ages |

Don't know where you are mate - you haven't said on your profile. I know a good chunk of the south coast but don't know much about North or Wales. |

Now we know you are in Worcs mate, I can't think of a better place for you than the Bristol Channel. Have not fished it meself but there is bound to be some geezers here who do regularly. Do not worry about the so called "serious hard core anglers". We are all learning all the time and most folk are reasonably sociable in my experience; if they ain't, don't worry about it, just write them off as miserable gits. We do get them in the angling fraternity just as in other walks of life. On this island where I am lucky enough to live, we have one of the foremost "experts" in the country who writes for magazines and is a recognised casting instructor. You don't get more serious than that but he often wanders past has a chat and a joke and tries to tell us how to cast. Actually I think Sean and I have possibly caught more this year than he has. |

I usually go to West Bexington or Abbotsbury, because I can only just walk again after an operation in September to mend my ankle. Well I can't walk yet unaided more than about 10 yards, but am down to one crutch and the effing aircast boot.
I am going away( South of France 8) ) to recuperate until end of Feb, then will be back hopefully with a spring in my step to fish for Bass there in March/April etc.
It would be good to set up an M & G for us soft southies. The Hardcore Easties on this site here like to go and freeze their kit off at Orford at night.
I was born and used to live up in that neck of the woods, and know that all night fishing in the Winter up there, unless one is fully fit, is not the best idea.
Keep in touch mate and we'll get together when I get back. |
