Thinking of going kayak fishing at Sea Town this Saterday(22.5.10). Has anyone had much success lately with regard to Mackerel or Bass.
Regards.

Enjoy the weekend.

I've been toying with the idea of fishing from a kayak. The last time I went out in one was over 20 years ago in the North Sea!
I've not fished Sea Town, I tend not to go any further than West Bay, but if there's fish there I might give it a try.
Good luck, hope all goes well.
Look forward to reading your report!

Hi All,
BFS again. Well, I did'nt catch anything on Saturday. Conditions not great with a low tide and a May bloom. However it was still fantastic paddling about on a lovely flat sea in the sunshine. I did talk to another kayak fisherman who said it is best to fish the rocks and kelp beds on the right of the main beach. He cauglt five bass last year on plugs. Has anyone tried the American Kick Tail plugs. They sound amazing or am I being sucked in by the hype. Anyway, here are my pictures of my trip. I,m going to try Budliegh on Thursday after work.

PS Cannot upload pictures. Can someone help. |

Yeah sure, so when you sign into photobucket you should see your pictures on there okay? If you click on the picture you want to upload, it will make the image bigger on your screen, then in the bottom left it'll have a group of options for you with the heading 'Share this image'. The bottom one is IMG Code, all you need to do is click the yellow coloured box to the right of where it says IMG Code and it should copy it automatically. This bypasses the need to hit the 'IMG' button in your post by the way.
So when you go to make your post with the picture in, all you need to do is right click in the body of your message and hit 'paste' and that'll be it, job done.
Hopefully that was clear, i know it seems long weirded! Any more trouble, drop me a line!
Cheers |

Ahhh... Seatown.. about 3 miles w of West Bay.... Surprised I am not in any of the pics - very careless of you not to get me in shot!
I have caught bass there while tinsel tossing about 3-400 yards off the shore, just to the west of Golden Cap - nothing massive, but there is obviously a pretty diverse range of life there.
Also had very good hauls of Dover Sole while diving off the beach there. |
