I will be down in the Summer again for my annual holiday and will, like previous years, take my rod and go fishing early morning. I fly fish for bass and have not had any from this area in the past couple of years. Can anyone help??

I'm always trying to get more info on this area. The locals catch loads but are quite tight lipped about where/when/how. I go from the Bantham side of the estuary but do find it hit and miss. The fish are there though and if you get down early in the morning or late evening you'll see quite a few jumping in the river mouth. Spotting thems not the problem catching them is. I find this mark as frustrating as it is beautiful good luck

It is indeed a very frustrating spot. A few years ago i was wading in the mouth of the estuary casting with a bubble float and you could see the fish in the breaking waves, they were carpeted with them. Never seen it since, and certainly not since I've been fly fishing there.
