You now can't fish on King George dock on the left past the lock gates which is a big shame, has that is the only decent place to fish on them docks crying Don't know if its permanant thing, but i have a feeling it will be worried worried

PS: So i fished past the the drain on the rightside of the carpark, ended up with 3 very very very very small flatties and being bitting by a dog that was trying to eat my bait, it wasn't one of best days fishing but it beats work happy

Just had a bike ride to see if the gates was still locked! it is now open to the public happy happy happy found out it was shut for security reasons because the HMS Iron Duke (Hull's adopted warship) was berthed in King George dock for a few days, last week....

Sorry, am I missing an "in" joke or something? the Pennine way runs from Edale to Kirk Yetholm, it never goes anywhere near the sea or any docks unless it's been wildly re-routed in the last couple of years.

Let me get this straight. You are telling me that King George Dock, Kingston upon Hull is on the Pennine Way?

As I said, the Pennine Way runs between Edale in Derbyshire to Kirk Yetholm in Roxburghshire, sticking generally to "the backbone of Britain" it goes nowhere near Hull. the nearest it gets to Hull is when it passes between Manchester and Huddersfield.

My "other hobby" is (was) walking and it was always my ambition to do the Pennine Way but while I was working, I could never get the time off to do it and now that I've finished work, my right knee is knackered so I'll never get the chance. In the meanwhile I studied all the maps, guidebooks, permitted and recommended deviations etc.etc. and I can assure you, hand on heart that the Pennine Way does not go to or through Hull.

the trans pennine trail, however runs accross the country from southport to hull (and hornsea i believe)
