As a smoker i get the 2oz resealable packs of golden virginia, ive cut off the flap of each pack, stuck a picture of each rig on the pack, and got myself some rig wallets at no cost, and the pic easily identifies each rig. and i have enough for every occasion and rig. Cheers..Mick |

Hi Andy, i have some, but theres two drawbacks, one they cost a quid, and two you have to take all of it with you, increasing weight to carry. Im like a few others on here, walking knackers me out, and the less i have to carry the better. The other thing i can do with these is, providing its an ordinary lead, i can attach it and put it in with the rig, im also making up spare snoods and taping one to each wallet then if i break one i just replace with the spare. |

If you look in some of the pound shops they do re-sealable plastic bags in about 3-4 different sizes, about 60 bags in each packet, one of my mates got me some and they come in really handy, another thing he got us was a garden 'wire tape' reel / dispenser, you know the type of thing, its like those little wire tag/ tapes that you get with freezer / sandwich bags ...........well when you have made your rig ....coiled it up, just fasten it with a piece of the garden wire / tape, each reel is about 30m long it will last you a lifetime.................unless you go fishing as often as Andy, then it will last a couple of months...................LOL

And it would only cost about £50 on the train to get down there.. Its a shame we cant do what allotment owners do, theres one not far from me, they have a little store, they buy all the main items in bulk, then buy it from the store at cost price, as and when they need it. the only problem we would have, is having enough local members to make it worthwhile. |

I dont know if its been tried, but it works for allotments because they are all in one spot, i think the way it worked was like this, they all chipped in, say £10 or whatever, they bought the stuff in bulk, then when they needed it they bought it again, the money was saved to buy the next lot etc, if a member left he would get his initial payment back, and anyone replacing that member payed his dues to get cost price items. seeemples. but like i said, you need enough peeps in one place. Cheers...Mick |

Been looking at the site for ages and learned some valuable tips- thought I had to register to tell you I've taken the advice here and went out and bought 10 packs of Golden Virginia to use as rig wallets- cost me a small fortune-threw the baccy away as I dont smoke. Think i'll just buy rig wallets from the tackle shop next time. |
