Andrew, @ Operations - thank you for all your updates. Very helpful. there will always be idiots who try to be clever, as you say they not only put their lives at risk but also others who may have to come to their aid. I hope that if they are forum users they now reflect on their actions.
I am a regular pier fisherman having spent many of my formative years in Walton now living in landlocked Hertfordshire i get down when i can. Would always miss January/early February though - never was much around ! Mind you i could say that for most months of the year at times ! In this quiet period - lets post up some of our best days from Walton Pier.

Hi, having looked through the older posts, i have realised this is in reply to the post about walton pier being closed, what strikes me as strange is that you started a new post to reply, this not only takes up space on the homepage, but also confuses people because they cannot see what you are replying to. If you have a reply to a post, could you reply on the original post to avoid confusion etc. Cheers..Mick

Thank you moderators - I was fully aware i was starting new thread - as the question i posed for everyone was to recount days gone by on Walton Pier during the "slack fish-lees period" The thanks to the operation manager should have in hindsight been added to the extremely long thread that was running.
But that said is it a real big deal ?
But good to be reminded ........

Hi Coachga, its not a big deal as such, but new members, or anyone not seeing the original post would be completely lost, it took me a while to realise it was a reply to the other post. As for days gone by, that would have been better as another post, It just avoids people having to find two posts to read about the same subject, Cheers..Mick
