hi mulletfly iknow what you mean as i do a bit of freshwater fly fishing heavy rain strong winds etc arnt good but i see fron some posts that bass are still cought in winter on bait so would they not still take the fly on them odd calm rain free days in the winter

I have tried Steve, alas without success. I think you would have to be in exactly the right place at exactly the right time to get a result. Worth trying though, especially on a nice day. Keeps the hand in too. |

I think one of the problems is that the Bass are probably in deeper water where can't reach them with the fly but obviously the bait lads can.
Another reason could be that there may not be many bait fish etc about and they are scavenging more and come across baits that way. Only my thoughts, probably totally wrong.....We need to try a boat.
