Hello all, my name's Graham (aka 2old) and I have been a compulsive "worm drowner" for nigh on 50 years. I'm one of the lucky fishermen whose wife loves fishing too... and just to prove it, here we are (about 10 years ago). Can you guess this South Wales venue?

Its Redwick guys and it was a hell of a windy day, but dry.... and you're welcome to join me one day (if this rain ever gives up). Not sure where the lunch will come from in that area - might have to settle for a squid sandwich
And you're right about the women catching more - as illustrated below. Notice that I'm not taking a blind bit of notice of that silly wrasse
This is Brixham breakwater btw.

I used to fish the 9.5/10m tides and walk out onto the ledges but its been a few years now since I did that. Unfortunately, I've got arthritis in both knees and both hips, so its too hard going for me now trampling through the mud.
It is a hot-spot for good winter cod though, but you don't get the big bags of fish that you had 20 plus years ago. Note that it can be a dangerous mark, and you have to be very aware of all the dangers of walking out onto the ledges and keep a sharp eye on where the water is breaking over the ledges all the times, especially when the wind is in the same direction as the tide. |
