Hi since doing a post some time ago, I decided to take a leaf out of my own book and purchased 100+ size 2 long shanked hooks for shore fishing.
Since using them I have more than doubled my catch rate be it that quite a few fish are undersized. That is not to say that small hooks won't catch big fish.
Its one way not to blank at least and gives you something to do.
The only problem is that you must give more attention to rod so as to avoid gut hooking your fish.
Give it a try, you have now't to lose.
