I have seen several peeps say they are trying to work out how to display images on their post, so this is how I do it.
Go to
http://www.photobucket.com
Register yourself, it is FREE and you get virutally no spam from them
Once you have registered, you will be presented with an upload screen - the piccies must not exceed 800x600 pixels
Upload your images, then view your album
Find the image you wish to post, it will give you 3 boxes labeled
URL
TAG
IMG
Highlight the IMG field, copy the text - it will appear something like
[IMG}http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r1/VifferRider/P9010334.jpg[/IMG} - note I have remove the close square brackets so you can see the structure
This should now show your piccie when you submit - like this

Basically first you need to get the image address which is like this
http://whatevertherimageis.jpg
then you have to click on the button above " Img" then add that image address then click the "Img" button again so it adds the end tag which is slightly different as it has a forward slash in it so the code looks like this

very important not to have any gaps in the code i used gaps for the example or it would have showed a broken image
use the direct link address code
Cheers

Just going to try this and remind myself of what a Cod looks like - I haven't met one for quite a while! Hope this works as I've loaded it from my own webspace.
By the way, it's blowing a hooley down on the Colne; should liven the fishing up.

I would like to point out that the photos of the bass and cod were taken by me. As it appears you are now back on the fishing scene, we'll have to get together and do a bit, once I've got the business side of my life sorted. Don't get too excited though, it's gone downhill a bit. The bass fishing isn't too bad though. |

Never left it! I have just not had as much opportunity to go as I would have liked .... and I've obviously not been fishing any matches (which I don't actually miss).
I have been sussing out some new Bass fishing spots for the coming spring and I've also been taking a look around my Brother - in - laws area (the Gower) and sussing out the surf fishing. Got the spinning bug again too - though I prefer to do it in Devon than here. |

The Gower must be one of the best places to fish in the country. I've only seen photos, but the scenery is amazing. Mind you there's something about fishing for bass on a saltmarsh in the middle of nowhere that gives me a buzz. The matches I tend to fish now tend to be friendly affairs. The serious boys have got it all sewn up now with bait etc. and entry fees for a "Big boys match" are usually in excess of £25.00. Also as you are well aware they are so serious and it isn't fun any more. |

Got my eye on a particular spot on the local marshes as I've seen the birds regularly working the surface there when I've been watching the Marsh Harriers that nest nearbye. It looks like the Bass are hunting that area regularly. I'll have to find a path onto this spot though as it's a bit off the beaten track...even for me! Need to start some bridge-building or borrow a helecopter. I also head down to Kent occasionally with Trev after the Mackerel - had some really good trips down that way. Last summer managed one trip with a Dolphin swimming about all day, and an air show going on as well as a pile of fish ....don't get that on the Colne. |

I have opened a photobucket account and copied into it images I want to put up including changing my avatar to a photo.
NO IT IS NOT OF SIR LES PATTERSON!!
I have clicked on the IMG button and the tried to post the link onto my sig. But it says the file is the worng sort. Also how do I post piccies of the myriads of fish I now catch, instead of posting the photobucket URL? |

I try to attach a picture with me, but fail , the system noticed me the picture must be small 6K,and the width and height not big 80*80, and i don't have so small pictures.
It may easy for all of you, but really a hard thing for me. |

1) you need to host your image somewhere like http://imageshack.us/
2) then you browse to your image where ever it is on your PC
3) next click on host it link and this will upload the image.
4) next you will see a list of links which they supply, the link you need is the one at the bottom - direct link -
5) copy that link then its off to add it to your post....
The post
1) click on the image link button -
Img - then paste the code you just got from image shack then click the Img button again this will add a similer code but with an added / forward slash example below...

make sure there is no gaps in the address or it will not work I added a gap so it didnt show a broken image in mine but there must be no gaps in the code at all.
After that just Submit your post
hope this helps
