Would just like to let all know that disappointed with lack of response to this thread. Myself and new member balharper posted same topic between us, and with over 300 views, not a single response !!
Hi all, looking for your help as always !!
Myself and my nephew are planning on a trip this weekend to either Chesil Beach or Selsey. Chesil has the better Sat night tide of around about the 1.00am mark, but i have read a lot of threads saying its not fishing well and now over-rated etc. Selsey on the other hand has a sat night tide of around 6pm, not ideal as we will prob fish all Sat night, but reports are good of the hounds etc. Will this tide time be any good ? Does it fish well through the ebb and low water ?
We dont mind the travel, but really relying on your local knowledge / reports etc, anything that would be of help. We are also open to suggestions on an alternative venue if need be.
Any help or feedback would be much appreciated, many thanks. |

I dont think you have had much responce as generally we havnt had many reports lately on Chesil.
Please remember as for the views you are seeing build up on your topic are not only from members but mainly visitors reading the site as a resource and not actually joining. Also when you post your topic it will show up as number 1 latest topic on the front page, and many will read it even if they cant help and fish no where near your area etc.
Cheers

HI Mulletman,
This is an old chesnut and i know where you are coming from, it would be nice to get a proportional responce re number of views but as pointed out to me by various other members of these forums ,this is just the way people are these days,................sad but true.

Haven't fished chesil this year and reports have been patchy. Plenty of good sessions but plenty of bad ones too. Lots of vareity of species in reports I've read but not many bit fish. Seems if the spiders turn up you've had it!
Selsey had a great run of hounds last weekend, i fished it Monday night and not a single hound was caught by anyone on the stretch I fished. Once the hound packs strip a beach of food they move on. It's all or nothing there so a bit of a gamble.
As you're travelling a long way why not consider Hayling Island? Probably the most consistent venue down here at the moment. It's producing smoothounds, bass, black bream, mackerel and also gilthead bream. |

Only info I can offer on Chesil is second-hand. The shop in Swanage told me that Chesil is long-range fishing, 200 yds. Over to the casting help topic. |

You could probably count the amount of fisherman in the UK who could cast a bait 200 yards on one hand...a hand that has had an accident with a circular saw! |
