Well I've tried to post this with some pics so I'm going to put the post up first and then add pics later - if I can work out how to do it.
Caught a lovely large mullet this am - just over 50cm in length and on a clauser minnow (sparse - ish). Just wanted to say thanks to all of you who replied to my recent posts (The one that got away) and also to everyone who has given freely of their advice and encouragement. Cheers chaps!!

Smashing fish ! ! Well done.
May I suggest that you remove the covering from the cork handle (if fitted)
Otherwise the water will get under it and discolour the cork and/or rot it. |

You'll be pleased to know it was carefully returned - the chap fishing by me thought it was between 4 + 5 lbs. Maybe? It certainly was a big old guy. Lovely broad head on it. And yes it did fight really well so the 'strip strike' tip made all the difference.
I just wondered if these Mullet are regarded as 'eaters'?
Tight lines - Rich |

Superb fish Rich. Well done indeed and welcome to the Mullet club. Not a bad fish for your first one! They put Trout to shame (and Bass) in terms of fighting ability. Hope it is your first of many. |

You're back! I thought the Dorado had got you.
Went out with Bassfly this afternoon, stood in a boiling pool of mullet - and there were some big 'uns about!
Unfortunately, we didn't catch any |

Hi DW. I'm sure that Rich will give you advice regards catching Mullet if you ask nicely
The Dorada were so large out there that they probably could have got me if they chose. Hope to get time soon to post a report about my hols.
Nice to be back. When are we getting together next? |

Just beginners luck really - it's gonna have to stay that way until I can keep them on the hook more often!! |
