Hi all
I'm going to Tywyn for the weekend and will be looking for sandeels and lugworm as bait. Does anyone know this area and more specificaly are there any beaches that have lugworm.
Also where is the best place to catch sandeels in the area and what is the best method from shore.
cheers. |

Hi, it looks like no one knows, its not my area, but if it helps we caught sand eel using sabikis, (i think its spelt right) Im not sure if you have seen them, so to clarify they are a 5 hook flapper with very small hooks and lure. but beware, because we also caught over 50 Weever fish with them. so make sure you have gloves or cloth to unhook them if you catch them. Also, daft as it sounds, if there are any large pools of water on the beach run through them if you can, we did it at Reighton sands and the sand eels popped their heads up to see what was going on. Cheers....Mick |
