yea mate i have fished rathlin island a few times from the shore/rocks and by boat. Get the ferry from ballycastle to rathlin and make sure you buy plenty of rag/lug worm and frozen bait before you go as you cant get bait there to buy. At the harbour in rathlin looking at the beach fish the rocks to the left where they jet out onto the sea but be careful when the tide is making up as when almost made up it covers these rocks which are good for some really big wrasse, pollack and flatties. If you go at weehand stay until Sunday and hire a quad motorbike and go towards the lighthouse at bull point then go right looking towards scotland. You will see alot of rocks and to the left a jagged formation which is really good to fish for pollack whiting cod wrasse depending on time of year. I usually fish this with peeler crab, squid cocktails and use another rod lure fishing for pollack. Now you will catch pollack flatties mackeral ling and the odd doggie. Tight Lines mate. big grin

when you are at the harbour in rathlin there is only one cafe hotel bar and there was flyers up to rent/hire quads you will see them there and ask anyone they will get you sorted as we even got transported twice in a tractor and linkbox.lol its good fishing there but the weather is very cruel and i would advise warm clothing and a good tent for shelter as the night fishing is remarkable with ling conger pollack. We usually take and fish 3 or 4 rods 2 beachcasters a bass rod and a 10ft spin rod. gat your bait in Ballycastle alot of rag and a couple packets sand eels and squid. If you want to fish for ling conger at evening/night take squid and mackeral for cocktails ans mackeral flappers to use at Harbour and the shore line behind the harbour. Yopu get use of quads there all weekend for £15 but make sure they have enough fuel.
