Hi, just thought I'd say hello. I've been fishing on and off for 25 years. I started out as a kid fishing off south coast beaches where I lived as a kid. As i grew up and moved inland I've taken up coarse fishing. However, during a recent camping trip to Anglesey, i fished off the rocks near Cemaes Bay with some of my coarse gear (struggled a bit but caught a wrasse) and got the sea bug back again
I've just gone and bought myself a beachcaster, tripod stand, rigs, multiplier and most of the kit (in for a penny etc!) and ca't wait to try it out. Problem is that I live in Bolton and work out of Manchester so i'll have to travel a bit.
Can someone suggest a good mark to start me off? I'm going camping to Grange Over Sands, this Friday to Sunday and then I've got one of those dreaded speed awareness courses to attend in Holywell on Monday 6th July in the morning, was hoping to stop off somewhere and fish in the afternoon.
Great forum btw and thanks in advance

Hi speedy your not that far from me! Cheetham hill. I,m pretty new to this site and sea fishing, having spent more years than I care to remember matchfishing(coarse) that is. I have been fishing north Blackpool up to fleetwood, takes under an hour to get there. Night tides are best at the moment. Have been told it needs a west wind(on shore) to fish well its been an east wind for ages lol, but lots of small whiting about close in. Ok only small but any fish is better than none is what I say. Greetings again get intouch anytime. |
