Just started sea fishing and went to weybourne for th first time! hand a great day. started with a 2 hook boom, then pulley rig and whiting and flat fish rigs. got a few bites but mainly crabs i think. got talking to fellow anglers only one guy caught a small dog fish. everyone else went home empty handed. i have been told mackrel season to start in the next few weeks so am going back next month. i need advice on which rigs, size hooks and keeping bait on the hook so im not just feeding the gulls lol! any advice on these or any other usefull things to know would be great! |

hey xcess if your interested in learning the rigs, times and baits my advice would be to come along to our club matches and learn from teh regulars, its very friendly and is a great way to learn quickly.
Just pop over to Holtseaanglingclub.com and check out reports and fixtures, if you decide to join just turn up at the next match and all will be explained |

Couldn.t agree more with this advice. Join a club and you will start to learn which rigs work best regarding any venue, get upto date and accurate fishing reports and learn from more experienced anglers. whilst you cannot expect a sucsessfull match angler to disclose all his most closely guarded secrets - they are generally an open group and willing to share advice to get you catching!!!! |

Firstly thanks for the advive i am looking into different clubs in the area. I have recently been to weybourne and salt house although still not catchin been using 2x boom rigs and size 1/0 hooks with a 170g bottom weight. so far only thing i cought is a star fish lol. got time to go on wednesday this week thinking of trying snettisham or brancaster. not really sure this will be any better. been talking to guys fishing at these places and no one having much luck at the min. any one know of any reports arround these areas cant really travel much further than weybourne this time as limited time due to work. so any advice on rigs, hook sizes and baits would be much apriciated i have been told to aim for bass and mackrel at these venues. any help i can get this will be a total of 18 hours fishing and still not caught anything!! |
