most of you may not approve of this idea but i think its brilliant,i have marked off on the back of my rod with nail varnish (bright yellow) 1" marks upto 23",for an instant fish measuring guide, and it works very well,i will try and post a pic sometime.bearing in mind its only a cheap rod,but hey if it was expensive i would still do the same.Andy1i

Seems as good idea to me. Then you can take your rod over to the people who are taking undersize fish and measure them for them.lol

I use a tailor's tape measure with the size limits of the main species marked on it.
its waterproof and wont rust. |

if you go onto the UK Bass Societys website they sell tape measures like the taylors use but also have a guide for weight on it. its calculated from average weights to lenght of hundreds of Bass and is pretty acurate. all the Bass ive had this year have been measured and weighted and then compared to this when i got home and its usually only out by a few ounces as every fish is different.
it only costs about £2 or £3, wont rust and all procedes go to a good cause. |

most fishing tackle shops now sell match measures which are already marked for around £5 so you cant go wrong
