Can anyone suggest a good all round rod that can be used off the beach and rocks? I'll consider any rod up to about £200, but if there's a good rod that's cheaper than that then I'll go for that.

The Century cccld. For its price you won't get anything that comes near it in my humble opinion anyway its a cracking rod comes in a lovely rod bag complete with reducer and can definitely be called an all rounder.I don,t work for century by the way!!!just a favourite of mine.

Cheers everybody, but I must admit that the Conoflex rods do sound good. Their quite expensive though, but I suppose you pay for what you get.

I hear so many times about this rod and that rod being better than the other rod.

Bear with me a min if you have time.

If you purchase a Rolls Royce and cant aford the fuel then the car is no good to you.

Same with a rod. As an example I purchased a Shakespeare K2 16ft 8in at £230.

Due to the fact that I have artritus of the spine I was unable to put the power into it that it needed, therefore the rod was no good to me. I offered it for sale some time ago for £150 in the for sale and exchange when it was running and had no takers, bearing in mind that the rod was new.

I ended up giving the rod to charity rather than let the leaches knock my price down.

Please when you recommend a rod take into account the age and size of the person that you are advising and their financial circumstances.

Remember its that little thing on the end that catches the fish THE HOOK

Cheers

Thats exactly why i reccomended the cccld its within the budget that the chap specified can be used in a variety situations thus making it a great all rounder and you don't have to be a mighty pendulum warrior to get the best from it.

So a cracking user friendly rod great all rounder job done

yes but i did recomend a second hand rod would be better as you get alot more for the money as it is alot cheaper and there is some bargains to be had especialy conoflex rods as the they dont hold there price like zziplex and century do but still a really good make of rod and they know how to build them aswell so you do get better value

What a post, making so much sense! (you should be charging for such guidance)so often you see people on the beach with all the gear and no idea on how to use it properly. The Salt range is a very good shout, might not be the in thing but bulletproof and very good the money 'bargin' google it mate and check out some of the write up's..
