I was reading on here last week that the Menia Straights were teeming with herring.
Are they still there and can you get them from the shore?

It was the same last year. A mate of mine who fishes the Straits told me the Straits were bubbling with Herring for most of last Winter. He had been catching Bass in the Winter on Herring. Theory is that if the Bass don't have to move off-shore to Winter because the food is inshore, then they will get plumper every year. |

Fished the Swellies on Sunday. Got no herring or mackerel but switched to float fished sandeal and got a 5lb huss. A lot better than nothing and what a lovely day. |

Actualy high water, about 6pm I think. On the main land side of the swellies. Very small tide. Water hardly moving. |
