Am i first one back and posting LOL.
All met at Lobster Smack 7.45am and headed down the new steps to Bobs Boat.
2hours steaming got us to a mark on a bank, about a mile from the Wind Farm.
First to catch was Pete Bob's crew nice sized doggie.
Well Done Macer "Jason" on the first of 4 Thornies nice one about 7 1/4 lb mark.
Second Thornie to Conehead "Jason" again 7 1/4Lb.
In between catches of thornies there were Doggies galore, quite a few Whiting a Solitary Pout and Dean and Essex Dave had competition of who could catch the smallest starfish. "Not weighed but Deans the size of a penny must of won it LOL."
Dean Came in with "a P.B. & New Species for the list" Thornie weighing 6 1/2 Lb. When Bob asked if we wanted to move we all agreed and starting reeling and securing our 2 rods (Low nad behold Dean brout in another Thornie and another P.B. 7 3/4Lber.Well done mate.
After switching banks we all caught some more Doggies and Whiting.
A really good day out with great bunch of guys and 6 dogies and 2 Whiting to boot.
Will post the pictures tomorrow when the pc stops bobbing up and down.
Really hard to see bites as the boat was rocking (quite violently) most of the day out on the 2 marks and I'm sure the lads had a sweepstake running as to me groundbaiting for them LOL
But I didn't and didn't blank but never got a first of catching the Thornie.
Oh well these things happen even if I did have strong pulls on the rod then sudden release twice in the days session.
Well done Bob on allowing us to (Essex Dave) to fall on your cups and smash the handles off LOL, at least it kept our hands warm without the handles.

Come on Dean you got weed LOL "Notice the pink line ????????? is there something you need to tell us Dean ????"
Nope Congrats on your first ever Roker and new P.B.
Nice brace second one being 8 1/2 lb and second P.B. of the day.

All I can say it was an excellent (if a little rough and Windy) day with really good company and its a good job the chill was in the air as we would of all had to see Essex Dave fishing in his shorts LOL.
Thanks Bob n Pete as always excellent hosts on the Boat.

Well organised Joason, Booked boat, organised bait. Opened a tackle shop in the middle of the estuary.
And held the joint lead in biggest fish till the man with the pink fihing line (oh arrrrhh) turned up with a whopper which I nearly lost for him with the net.
Well done Jason and well done Dean on that Raymond.
Shame about the one that got away though. |
