went to southfalls on the island today with cabbus krackov ratticus, but only to improve my casting style. had some tuition today from a local well respected caster in the hope of getting better distance and direction. little things help quite alot..........and i can see the differance already. also it is nice to hear his opinions on fixed v multi reels. will also be getting some time dedicated to bait presentation and rigs etc so all in all a good afternoons LEAD CHUCKING!!!
big thanks to ryan |

if you could see my old stlye you would laugh........pilling a triangle of line out with my left hand and flicking the rod violently with the right. but still pushing 80/90 yards lol. now a conventional over head thump is seeing me well beyond that |

Whizz I don't know if it was casting or whether or col was trying to mount a sailing mast but they are beasts of a rod.
Very interesting session a lot was learn't including how to tie a knot properly so they don't crack off with a power cast LOL.
I think the way forward for me is with the fixed spool for beach casting at present and keep the Multi's for boat trips, (I've still got to take off the birdsnest the size of Col's rod on one of them DOH !!!!!!!!!! )
I can't thank Ryan enough for the time he afforded to Col and myself.
One down side to the afternoon while being served tea by Kopite's good lady only to have the Winning skippers hat and Boat trophy paraded on the tea tray and left with the tea n cake.
Good one "Chel", talk about rubbing your nose in it LOL
Seriously thanks for the tea, glad you made it and not Col .. |

I think that when good opportunities arise and enough interest is shown and commited to then there will be certain new things that will come available.
Considering how long the Thames forum has been going compared to others I think Kopite is doing well not to overdo the activities.
Everyone can suggest or try and organise events and PM's can fly about but actually sourcing organising and making an event successful is not an easy job..
Keep up the good work Col.
We will be ready for any new adventures as and when they arrive |
