Has anybody tried to use a Deivce for any other use than What was intended??? ( for carrying and protecting a hookbait )
Only I noticed in a magazine, another use suggested for the Device, and that is to use a flapper rig, or clipped rig with a seperate bait clip, and push chopped fish, chopped crabs, squid etc into the device and then cast so it acts like a spod would in freshwater.
If anybody has tried using this idea, out of curiosity, did you have any results from using it?? |

Might work at slack tide but as the groundbait ejects when it hits the water it will end up a hundred yards away from the hookbait when the tide is running. Ok if you drill holes in the d/vice fill with groundbait then cork it. |

was using it for that exact purpose yesterday skate fishing only one prob you need to close the top off as soon as it hits the water it does what it is meant to do it ejects its contents ,what i am looking to do is cap it off with a cork or something similar and then holes need to be drilled in the side another spin on it would be to fill it with sponge and then use an extract oil inside |

or just use a freshwater feeder attatched to your line above the hooklength?will save you £3.50 that you pay for the device.

the trouble is a freshwater feeder is a lot smaller than these tubes i was packing a lot of bait into this tube it would pack a lot of scent i use the freshwater types for mulleting in calmer waters |

Get a bigger swim feeder then, easiest solution lol,and adapt it with a hole each end pass 60lb mono through and a genie at each end that way you can attach it between rig and weight or rig and shockleader, will be trying the one i made tomorrow,if it works lol.the theory works just needs the practical test |

Got my money on the d/vice conversion being nicer to cast . Less of that waggling about in mid air you get with a big freshwater feeder. Let us know andi. |

spot on my man the lead is already in the d/vice where on a swim feeder loading it up with the volume of chopped herring that i managed to pack into the tube it would make it very unstable for casting even if you put it inline ,with the d/vice it does not need a lot of converting its got the weight the grips and a good capacity to hold bait , i would not want to load my kompreessor up on a long cast with all the weight spiralling around in the centre of the trace recipe for an overun |
