Wife and I shot down to Spurn for 08:30 this morning to dig our bait for todays fishing at Sewer Pipe opposite the yellow bouy & wreck.

Got about 1.5lb of big lug in approx 2hrs so managed to get upto Sewer Pipe and rods out by 11:30am, that give us approx 4hrs up and whatever we wanted to do going back down (only managed an hour back down as her feet were too cold) angry

I don't understand what you all mean about the sea being slight, moderate etc so I wont bother trying to explain it but to me it was okay big grin

Both used pennel pulley rigs with fresh lug on and 5oz lead.

Not a bloody bite in 5hrs, although the wife did manage a small flattie that must of bit so small that we missed it big grin (see pic)

There were a lot of match anglers about today, watching some of those guys cast was impressive even if it did look a tad weird big grin

About an hour before high water (14:30) two guys rock up and fish to the right of us and first cast a wonderful bass (see pic), he missed another bite later on when we walked past after packing up, I believe he was fishing with squid only.

Just before climbing back up the cliff I chatted to the guy that was fishing there, he had 3 cod in the bag angry - he was using razor fish and lug.

So the fish win today, but maybe we will be luckier next time we go out.

Good report and pics,

I too have a wife who can outfish me LOL,

She too suffers cold feet as in "Frozentoes on the thames estuary forum."

Reduced pair of Ski boots seem to have done the trick.
