RNLI pay enough already, putting their lives on the line day in day out, and Mr Brown wants more, maybe MPs want more cash for second homes.
what happened to us, running this country, its all gone to pot. |

My previous post was a clue here .... is it so difficult to read the dates of threads and the actual content they are discussing before diving in!
Firstly the original thread is 2 years old and secondly the thread was about the possibility of the RNLI being charged for their radio licences - I pay all my taxes too but I'm more than happy to let what is probably the best volunteer marine rescue service in the world off the cost of a license for the radios that might one day be instrumental in saving many of us taxpayers that enjoy their protection. It's also worth noting that it is not only boat owners that enjoy their protection and that the RNLI don't charge! |

As Reelwiz has said this is an old post, but I am glad it has been revived if only to bring it to the attention of members what a great job the RNLI do without any reward save that they have done their bit helping others and avoiding the grief family members go through when the lose a loved one.
Cheers

Oops, I didn't check the date of the original post - smacked wrist! - but, as Keith (Rabbi2) says, it doesn't harm to give the RNLI a little thought. We hope that we never need them but, thank God, that they ARE there if we should actually need them.
Cheers, Geoff |
