For those peeps comming tomorrow just been out for a look and conditions look great with a strong easterly blowing and the water is very murky,
I hope the wind eases a bit for tomorrow so that the leads stay on the bottom,

remember your floaties and flasks

Tight lines

Report of scottish forum meet

Thanks to scottishcodhunter for asking us up to fish the area and i had a very enjoyable day out with him and mac47.
caught my first flounder which was great and mac47 caught a small codling and scottishcodhunter caught a codling to about 3lb.
Conditions were a bit rough and we fished two marks from about 1pm until 6.30pm.
Didnt manage to get my first cod but very happy with my flounder as it adds a fourth species to my catch list.
Once again a big thanks to scottishcodhunter and mac47 for the great day out and the bits of knowledge i gained from fishing with experienced guys.
Tight lines to all
Fishhunter.

p.s hope to get back and catch my first cod before they dissappear again.

I had a very enjoyable day out yesterday thanks to fishhunter and mac .
The conditions were looking good but it was a direct easterly wnd the first for months , The water was murky but the swells were over 20 feet so it was very difficult to hold the bottom ,
I was hoping the wind would change to a South east but it never did ,so many of the marks would be very unsafe we did move around and many of the peeps we met were having a" week-end from hell" the swell and east wind causing problems for many of the long distant travellers fishing Arbroath to Aberdeen

fishhunters big flatty and then macs codling managed to get our blood pumping and we were hoping for some more but it was quiet for a while ,we were using a mixture of baits fresh /frozen lug razor macky muscles and squid ,I tried my special of large prawn and macky strips soaked for a week in peeler oil - and landed a 3.4 lb codling and that was the biggest of the day
The crack was good and we exchanged stories about the ones that got away so I hope we meet up again soon and conditions bring us some biggies

sue -remember to wear gloves and keep a tight lid on the bait if you try it -it is smelly stuff and stays on the hands for a long time (lesson learned )

It was a great day out even though the fish were hiding, the craic made up for the lack of fish. In saying that fishhunters flattie was a stoatir.
Got to agree with scottishcodhunter about the smell from the peeler oil. If he hadn't caught a cod on it , I would have bet that it was the oils smell that chased all the fish away worried .
As an aside I have tried to pm you twice Steve but they don't show up in my outbox can you check and let me know if they got through.
Mac.
