hi guys
Everyone will have the reply and everyone will be disgusted at the reply which i think they where expecting anyway.
on the west coast. blackpool way we have in the last three weeks had a taste of what our shores will end up like we have gone from catching to not even a bite in a 4 hour fish and thats not including what will happen to the tackle shops when the shores run dry i gess it will be to late something this goverment are very good at doing.
If they could have slapped a tax on us to earn to money they would have so they get back at us this way .

have any of you signed the petition for quotas ect EU article 47?
there is very few signatures, considering how many shore anglers, charter and boat angelers there are and the commercial sector. Every little helps so i urge ypu to sign it, it might not do anything but if we dont try then it will be our own fault if we are affected!
Rant over sorry guys

Yep, I got the reply, with the expected answer, but then only 2500 signatures does blunt the argument, as there are ment to be millions of anglers, accross the land. The Governments main response was that they have the exclusion zone for fisheries along the coast for Bass and they think that thats enough !!
Nothing worse than traveling down, setting up for a session and then see a trawler go past with its nets out so close that you can watch the fish being pulled on board. My only real concern is that had we met in the middle and had a 1/2 mile zone, How would they be able to regulate and enforce it.
You couldn't have the navy or coastgard traveling up and down the coastline eveyday !!
So it would still be the same old Story, when will they realise that distroying the shore line and the breeding grounds, will mean that their livelyhood will be distroyed and our sport.

This is the problem we have here in the sound. The draggers raped the bottom and now there's hardly any fish. We're only allowed one bottom fish in the sound. As far as the gill nets, some states are banning them. We haven't been able to here yet. The commercials have too much clout. They are dropping in numbers because of the lack of fish. |

Ive seen this thread on another fishing website and the general consensus is that a 1 mile coastal ban is not going to happen. The support for it just isnt in big enough numbers which is unbelievable considering how many shore anglers there are |

Indeed hogwart, not everyone who fishes goes on forums or dont even own a pc. Trying to get the message across to such a broad range is always going to be a challenge, not saying it isnt doable but it would be challenging.
Of course there are many other factors to consider when saying why there is a lack of fish. However the problem does need addressing |
