only fished here once, great place, couldnt stop laughing with my mate , comming back in the dark down those stairs is real fishing..........not for the faint hearted................ |

To get to the pub, go onto canvey on the A130,
follow the road to a set of traffic lights.
At the lights there will be a pub called the King Canute on the left hand side.
Turn right at these lights into HAVEN ROAD.
Follow the road until you get to the end, and that is the Lobster Smack pub.
With regards to fishing right on the end of the jetty, its probably not the best of ideas, but there are railings on the corners, as this is where i fish, although not once its dark. Once its dark i prefer to fish from the dogleg part. |

fished the oj last friday,it is a long walk to the end of pier from the pub!
got there about 1pm
as i was setting up on the fist rod ,two of the eyes had broke
was useing lug/mussel/squid
didnt hav one bite BLANKED
fished near the end nexted to macer
must have been 20 anglers on the pier,only see a dab caught at the end
will be back there soon  |
