Hello oyster,
The best thing to do is look at the previous posts on the jetty which gives you plenty of tips and of course have a look at the pictures of venues post .
Just remeber its a long hike, so travel light and pay particular attention to the entrance steps . These are in a bad state of repair and not for the feint hearted!!
And of course, best of luck |

Yes im afraid you do have to climb the steps.........
The best place to park is at the Lobster Smack Pub, then its a 10-15 min walk to the jetty steps and about 15-20 min walk to end of the jetty.
Hope this helps, when are you planning to fish? day or night tide? |

I must remember to wave at you next time!
Do you go out on the twin-hulled boat? |

Very fetching! I'll make sure it's a limp-wristed wave in that case! |

Its hard to say as everyone has there own preference up there. My only comments (personal view only) is i dont like going up the end where there are no railings. Thats only because of the safety aspect. If you go over there with the strength of the tides and depth of water, its goodnight and thankyou.
But other people will say its their preferred location. |

John,
Only fished it once on the forum meet.
All the way up from th dogleg people were catching on both sides. Out to the green Buoy/Marker Me and my good lady wife frozentoes had a few that night.
Hope that helps. As Macer says the end bit no railings I personally wouldn't go up that far but i know a few people will.
We would all be happier you were doing a catch report thread at the weekend and not an accident thread.
Good luck Tight lines and stay safe.

No you are between 50 to 60 feet above the tide. There would be problem if it covered the jetty as most of Essex would be under water lol.
The problem is if you go over, you have no way of getting up back onto the jetty, apart from clinging onto one of the jetty legs. With the strength of the tide etc it would not be a good day out mate. |
