okay guys Im open for ideas for the venue

my ideas for example
do you want a cod bash on the east coast ?

or a boat on loch Etive on the west

post your suggestions - and we can take it from there

I know setting a date to suit everybody can be come a nightmare but if we have a venue and later a date others will attend when it is set up

i fancy the idea of a cod bash on the east, probably be able to travel as far as Arbroath as i can do it in a couple of hours.

As you say time and date could be the stumbling block but keep me posted and we will see what we can come up with.

Hi,
I'm new to the site and would be happy to meet up. With regard to venues I fished Berwick and Burnmouth last week and blanked. I also spoke to one of the lobster boat skippers at Burnmouth who told me that they hadn't had a codling in their creels for a couple of weeks. His opinion was that the codling had moved out the area. This being the case i would not recommend south of the forth at least as far as Berwick. Let me know what is being planned, dates venue etc and I'll check my diary.

Im just checking out tides and times for setting up a meet at the end of jan or the early part of Feb

I am looking at somewhere from Arbroath to Usan as it has been fishing well in the right conditions just now ...9lb cod being caught

The problem has been that many comps and meets are being held in this area so trying to make sure nothing else will hinder and make the marks full of other anglers ........

I could make myself available at the end of January maybe Saturday 31st or Sunday the 1st of Feb or the weekend after which is Saturday the 7th or Sunday 8th of February.

Where are you located in relation to me in Jedburgh?

Look forward to hearing from you and any other members regarding this meet.

Tight lines

That time will be ok for me too. I have been hearing of some good bags of cod just south of Arbroath when conditions are right. I have also had some success south of Aberdeen when the wind has been Souwesterly at that time of year. Basically I would be happy to catch my first fish this year.

Hi you lucky lads up there I could do with a bit of info on loch Etive.
Can you launch your own boat there?
How much is it to Launch?
Has it got a decent slipway.
If the answers are favourable I may drag both my boats up there.
Cheers keith big grin

I believe that there are several places to Launch your boats around Taynuilt

I have always chartered a boat and I pick it up at Taynuilt old pier but towards Oban there are several slipways but have no idea of costs

How about Sat 31st or Sunday 1st Feb High tide is around 4pm and 4am

up to the 23rd the wind will be S SW no available forcast after that (unless you know )

So let me Know what you think and what tide you wish to fish my own preference would be fishing from midnight onwards to the 4am tide but I understand some people will have to travel maybe even seek accomadation so let me know asp

maybe fish both ? I

depending on how many want to attend I thought we could confirm the venue nearer time but we could roam along the coast depending on conditions that day between Bervie and Arbroath

let me know what you think and we can post up a confirmed meet ?
