Ok lads, Right from the start it were bloody cold suiting up but we soon became alclimatised to it. Poor Chris thought we would never stop sailing out anyway thr anchor was droped and everyone got set to the job in hand, (catching fish). All except me as I decided to tackle up just as daylight was breaking.
Steve my next door neighbour was in with a fair flounder and then the action began with Steve my neigbour , Chris and Manic well into the action. Sam 28 and Chris pulled in what I thought were the best flounders of the day. Johnty was very quiet as he always gives fishing all of his concentration, and he did quite well. Everyone caught including myself.
Now for the best part
Our good friend (Northeast Moderator) who shall remain nameless decided that he had enough fish in his bag and decided to try for seagulls. yep you read it right, SEAGULLS. Now I know that at this time of the year turkeys are in fashion but I draw the line at seagulls.
I am seriousley under the impression that he was jelous of my chicken and decided to do someting about it! lol
Steve Topfish was on a diet of tea, oranges and choclate buiscets and proceeded to view all three for the second time but give the lad his due he carried on fishing. Well done lad
RCA ron had a great time sorting out lines for the other lads and what a great job he did, he even managed to catch fish inbetween.
All in all a great day with plenty of fish but most undersized and returned to grow bigger. |

What a brilliant day we had, plenty of fish and excellent company. A big thanks to Ron for sorting out that massive tangle in the dark. Manic Seagal (oops, I mean Muppet ) kept us well entertained with the odd joke here and there. Can't wait to see you all again lads. |

Well done Keith glad to see the curse has been lifted
I know them yarksur types are mean but a seagul instead of a turkey for crimbo is pushing it a bit |

Hi, what a great day, seagull for xmas dinner could catch on, I did try parrot once but it kept repeating on me. Once again the elusive Cod continued to elude us, even though i tried with big hooks n baits to avoid the little ones. Its a shame the fish were not a bit bigger, though Sam28s flatty was a decent size. I think i caught around 7 whiting and 3 flatties before deciding to target the big boys, all to no avail as the fishing seemed to go to pot once we moved. Not to worry, it was a nice day out with good company, and i met a few new faces, Sam28, Keiths neighbour Steve, rca, i think, gawd my memorys terrible. Heres to the next meet wherever it may be. |
