Just thought i'd see what pier Fellow Anglers thinks is the best pier in the North East and why???
Mines Roker Pier Because its convinient for me and easy fishing,with the chance off some canny fish when conditions are right... big hug

I also like roker pier there has been some lunkers caught off there in the last couple of years also seaham pier is a cracking pier the only thing is you need a key and you have to join seaham sea angling club to get one. there has been some cracking fish took off that pier.

i fish scarborough pier wen its flat havent had any good fish off there but only fish it wen there is nowhere else 2 go and for the change big grin

can you fish the pier when the water is rough. i have never fish there before but am thinking of giving it ago.

Hi Eddiet, you can fish the pier when its rough, ive fished it with 5ft swells or more, if its storm conditions it would be closed off and you would see the waves breaking over the wall.

cheers when is the best time to fish it ie high or low and do you lose much gear. big grin

Hello Sam mate,i gotta say Tynemouth pier,even though i dont climb around to get on it ( oh yes he does i hear ya say)
2nd would have to be roker
3rd Steetley
4th Blyth
5th Cambois
6 Amble
7 ratty
8 southshields

u can fish scarborough pier weneva and you wont lose tackle aslong as u keep reeling and dnt stop coz there is a couple of big rocks just over the side of the pier big grin

its kk m8 if u want fun with whiting its a great spot i just want them cod i was there over week fishing of the top where the green light is castin 2wards the clifs in the background wit da father and he was pullin whitin in all the way up till high water after that none of us caught anything realy winking

was fishing at the brigate house last sunday excellent spot not snaggy and cought a 2lb cod was a great spot 11LB cought tht day at the end of the pier
