for many years i used sea strike, - coz i bought a kilo spool which lasted for ever. -well nearly .
then it was what ever was availiable in my town, usually cheap & nasty.
i tryed some ultima distance which i thought was the dogs danglies, nice and smooth & supple .
currently useing ultima f1 in 15lb.
which is as good as the distance imho
but its black, and bloody difficult to untangle at night coz of this.
will be going back to ultima distance or red ice i think.
as to shocks ,i prefer greased weasel in 60lb clear or orange.
but i'm not that fussed. |

Well from all the replies that I have read it seems to be that whatever line you purchase, if it suits your needs and you are happy with it, then stick with it.
Its such a minefield out there as regards rods reel and lines and all the manufacturers want your money.
The only thing I can sugest is wherever possible try before you buy, I know this is not possible with line but it certainly is whith other gear.
Oh just as a passing note I saw a chap using Strimmer line for his trace lengths.
The mind boggles. lol |

I find Stren works well for me, not the thinest line but soft yet tough. |
