Is it any good for putting on a multiplier to use on a boat rod?
I have also been told i need to get a steel spool for the multiplier to put it on if i want to use it on a boat?
I will ONLY use reels with metal spools (preferably one piece spools) for beach or boat fishing . Mono kills lots of composite spools on the last cast of the day when a big fish or raft of weed has been pulled in after being put back in the tackle box. The stretched line tries to shrink back to normal putting huge pressure on the spool ends and ....pop .
If the line has been wound on under heavy pressure always let the line out again and rewind. This needs to be done with any reel and line, mono or braid before you pack up. |
