It is best to get them off Ebay without a doubt. Me and my mate went halfs on some blue ones to use as starlights.
Ended up paying just over £5 for 100 so 50 each! Bargain!! |

i still pay £1 for a tub of 20,of those i discard 8,the blue and red ones(for some reason i cant see them very well, must be my eyesight),as you get 5 colours of 4 each,i keep the yellow orange and green ones
look in the party section of your local poundland

Have you used those ones that have a light, crocodile clip and budgie bells on from the pound shops?, I think that they are in the 99p shops rather than Pound land

nah,i tie the adapters that come with glowies to my rod tip (semi permanent) and just change the glowie as needed, simples
as for those "budgie bells" dont even get me started, although i was thinking about painting one with luminous paint (from model shop),makes it easier to see how far you have flung it in the dark on casting lol!!

you cast with the bells on? suprised you havent snapped the tip of your rod. take them off when casting and if the tip light is easily removable then do that also. i have heard it voids the warranty on some manufacturers rods. if your line wraps around it and you cast the force is going to snap the tip |

i think they are ideal for busy pier fishing joli(personal opinion only),you know how it is you get chatting to the bloke/blokette next to ya'.
the most annoying thing ive found on our pier is someone bought a "electronic bite indicator alarms" from said £shop, damn thing kept going off every 4 seconds !!!!! wind and waves lol.10/10 for trying though.

did i type that in double dutch. who cares about warranty on the tip lights or bells!! i have both. all i'm saying is if you cast with the tip light or bells on...yes they go flying BUT if the line wraps around the light or the bell it can snap the tip of your rod
So save your self a few ££ on lights and bells and also the cost of a new rod |

Ok. personally I wouldn't want to sit there with my neck cranked back looking up at the tip all night. I ache enough the morning after so I can do without a stiff neck and shoulders. I know you can fix a headlight to the rod rest or something similar to light them up but...why you'd want to do that when tip lights are only £1 maximum and do the job just aswell. Headlights are for your head and used looking where your going on the way to the venue, baiting up etc. I just tape the tip lights on with some insulation, pvc, duct whatever tape I have. Before the cast I make sure the line is running smoothly through the rings and hasn't somehow wrapped around the light. If using bells I take these off and attach them again when the rod is back in the stand. I guess everyone has seperate ways of doing their thing. |
