I got fed up with paying nearly a quid for starlights so now I go to poundland and buy a pack of 25 glowsticks they work just as well they are a bit longer than starlights but who cares 25 for a quid. |

I used to use starlights then went on to the tip light that you slide on to you rod,now however i just use a headlamp to see my rods, just by putting a bit of reflective tape on the tip i find that easier |

Try poundland,in the party plate n bits section, they sometimes do tubs of party glow sticks,25 for a quid, just sellotape them on 2 the tip of ya rod,u dont miss a bite with these, discard the uncracked white ones as they turn blue and u cant see them so well at night |

Try whipping some gold or silver thread to your tip, about three inches long and then shine a light at it, you'll be surprised at how effective it is. |

you cant beat starlights 100 of of ebay for 5pounds
i have tried the tape and paint on your tip but you have to spend a fortune in batteries
and also everyone else nearby with their mini light houses on their heads spoiling your night vision
it would just be easy if everyone used starlights
cheers steve |

I reckon it's about time that Starlights or the tackle shops got real. Many of us know where to get chemical tip lights for a fraction of what the average tackle shop sells starlights for, (get mine for 6p each). So why does this rip off continue?? Don't the tackle shops realise how much business they are losing to those in the know. |

i went to get one of those battery light things you clip on the rod for 75p which i thought was good first time i got a bite and struck the light goes flying off of the rod into the sea as i was on the pier
so i go to the tackle shop to buy another one and they suggested to tape a starlight on the rod end only cost a pound each he says
ha ha i laugh thinking he was joking but no he wasnt as i use to rods thats 2 pounds a session
off to ebay cost me about 10p each so now i put 2 on each rod tip for extra light
they are brill a lot better than shinning a light at the rod tip especialy when im trying to do something else at the same time or a bit further away from my rods chatting to the guy next to me
cant beat having one on your rod tip even if you are using a torch as well
cheers steve |

I found out the plastic bit of the top of a fire extinguisher is good as a tip light all you do is tape it on shine a torch on it for a few seconds and it glows for hours, p.s becarefull not to set it of if you borrow the bit |

If you want to experiment with different light sources, one place to visit is " night lights R us".
I get bargains of all shapes and sizes on this site.
You can get the chemical lights here, 20 for £2.95, but they are 2" long which is twice the length of the normal ones.
Also, if you order them, send an email back to them saying that 90% don't work and they send you another 20 FREE !!!
Great deal. |

Not impressed with cheating the system as when something is faulty then you could have a hard time getting rembursed or satisfactiom from the retailer of manufacturer. Also it tends to push up the price of goods for others.
