Hi Bob, How are you doing? Assuming it don't rain too much, Big Sean and I will probably be hanging around Eastoke Point at LW first thing Monday. Don't know anything about "swiffing" - I guess that is what you mean by fly fishing. Do you actually catch anything? Last Monday I had a decent gar there - they can be fun on light tackle.

hi rich
yes mate swiffin is saltwater fly fishing, ive been doing it for about 12 years, mainly from my dinghy in langstone, where 50 -200 schoalies in a tide is reasonably common, mainly fish of 12 ozs with a few sizeable ones, biggest on fly 7lb 5oz,along with bream, scad, mackerel, pollack, mullet if your nerves can stand it,and my favourite garfish, they can be frustrating when your bait fishing,so you can imagine wot they are like when they take a fly,but once you hook one boy do they fight, they jump somersalt, greyhound and change direction so quick, amazing sport,as you said rich you had your gar on light tackle, imagine catching a gar on 2 oz of kevlar rod and no weights, and the take is like an electric shock up your arm, just an insight mate,im gona have a mung around hayling over low water on monday so ill probably catch up with you at some point, hope so anyway, regards to sean,

Hey Bob! How's you diddlin'?
I've had a couple of dozen small Bass from the shore so far this year. Nothing special, best about 1lb 8oz. Gonzo has had a few 5lbers off his boat and lots of smaller fish. Just needs a sou'wester to push them inshore.
