Hi Sarah & Hi to Everyone else winking

I am new here aswell, I have taken a break from shore fishing the last two years due to my best buddy which i always went fishing with emigrated to Mexico,

I have been on various boats over the last two years with another group of mates i fish with, or hardly get the chance to now i should say because of my shifts the last ten months, as now it usually means i work the majority of weekends and have time off through the week,

I eventually went fishing a couple of weeks ago during the week, I was glad to be shore fishing again, I had the beach to myself, NICE, casting was still spot on, shame about the tiny fish i caught, but I was minus my fishing buddy, so didnt quite feel the same, so if you want to meet up, give me a shout,

I aim to go 3 or 4 times a month, I am in Slough, I normally fish Seaford mainly, due to me catching my 6.5lb Bass & my mate caught a 10.5lb Bass from there, so it has become a favourite hot spot where i actually fish the last few years,

I say Seaford is more productive on a night, but i have caught some nice size fish from there, and loads of different species,

Rottingdean is well known for Bass under the cliffs, good fishing in the winter but its a pair of waders job and be prepared to lose some tackle, best fishing from low tide then you can see the rocks, you have to be careful in bad weather though, as tide can come right up in places,

Thats where you also can collect the live shrimps in the summer, they are deadly for Bass, they hide under the seaweed in the rock pools, you need a strong net on a pole, and drag it around and through the seaweed, you can only do this on low tide, Free live bait, NICE

Newhaven pier was popular, but they closed it, I believe it is still closed, anyone know? or there is the other pier, but a bit of a treck, and your car is not exactly in a safe place i would say,

Anyone else have any good fishing marks where you can park your car close by, lets list them, winters here,

I will Look forward to replies

Shaun

[quote="sarahhenty"]Hi,

I have been sea fishing for the last couple of years and havent been that successful. I have caught 4 species , makerel, garfish, small ray, pouting but what i am really after is Billy Bass. I have mainly taught myself from reading info on the internet. The guys at Brighton Marina tackle shop are always helpful.

Howdy Sarah, I was in the Tackle Box this morning with Eddie (king of the sea). Keith was on the west arm doing tickets. I didn't fish today as I prefer the beaches. Bton Marina offers up too many blanks and is very snaggy.

Down this end the bigger Bass season is just kicking in. The last quarter always offer up the chance of the larger specimens. The marina is a bit touristy for my liking (some of the anglers too!) To catch your billy bass you will need good bait presentation= decent clip down rigs. I make my own so I can donate a few choice rigs to help out. I am near Gatwick and you pass me on the way down. Tight lines !

hi sarah, u should try walton pier or clacton pier both fishing very well at the mo, both are day ticket of £5 which walton you can fish nigth tide if you buy a season ticket which cost £60, but you can fish the pier if you get on there about 3pm to fish a night tide and no one will cheek. plus there lots of people on there on night so you wont be alone
