ive broken the inner eye of my end ring (the plastic bit) anyone know off an effective and easy bodge to fix this cos i really dont want to keep weakening my line
probably keith will have an answer lol

replace the whole ring andy , my old rod was chipped and when bring in it would fray the line ,

the whole inner bit has come out,so im not getting any fray,ive put a few layers of clear nail polish just to smooth it off a bit though,cant really afford new ring,rod only cost £12

Hi andy
There was a post on the other day regarding the same matter,the guy took his rod to the local tackle shop,for just over £3 it was done there and then

andy if you wanted to pm me your addy i send you a end eye m8 but your have to fix it on , and what daz is on about is steve1963 in the south coast , your need cotton , glue , and nail varinsh hardeder.

ok,ive made a temp repair,piece of neoprene tube,slpit lenghtways and bosticked on,it seems to have done the trick

Several rods, and quite expensive ones at that suffer from this problem. Why oh why they dont put quality rings on these rods god only knows. I have 4 rods with the same problem, although only one is damaged I will eventually have to re-ring all of them. keith  |

Most decent rods come with Fuji BNHG's or BMNAG's- which rod manufacturer puts crap rings on? Interested to know so I can stay away from them. |

Shakespear K2s have very brittle rings also the new fladden solid carbon boat rods. Dont get me wrong, the rings are made hard to avoid line groving them but when dropped or pulled off the tripod with a heavey fish they tend to crack on impact. keith  |

i have had a similiar problem with my mustad rod....
the 3rd eye has fell apart (both innards have come out)
its a fuji shock ring and im just wondering what to do ?
i dont want it taking off the rod because it will wreck it!
any ideas ?  |
