| A petition to the UK government may make you feel better but the UK government can do nothing that conflicts with the wishes of our lords and masters in Europe. The EU decides fishing policy, and hands up anyone who thinks the EU gives a toss about the feelings of the English...... on any matter. |

That's incorrect Haddock. Out to the six mile limit is down to the British Govt. alone and local sea fisheries committees can make local legislation. |

Cant you get someone to sin on your behalf or is that against the rules?
I think that all those who fish in these waters deserves the right to vote, whether or not they are a citizen. |

Just shows the apathy of people in the uk.
ESPECIALLY members of this forum !!!
We have over 5000 members and even they cany get off their behinds and sign one simple petition!!!
If you dont sign you dont deserve to have the right to even moan about lack of fish |

| MJB - British Territorial Waters extend to twelve nautical miles from the nearest land. Commercial Fishing licences come under different lettered ategories depending on your quarry, vessel size and horsepower. A vessel in excess of 10 metre is prohibited within the six mile limit unless it has a special licence (I.E. Mussel Boats). Vessel's under 10 metres with a category A Licence for Fish and Shellfish are currently allowed to fish right up to the beach provided it is not a protected area. As I mentioned in a previous post the only winners in the fishing game at the moment are the large corporate fishing fleets and their lawyers who make a mockery out of existing legislation. And for gill netters they are not allowed full stop - If you see a gill net shred it to bits with a knife or report it to the Fisheries. |
