Best bit of advise I can offer also being a novice to sea fishing is to (A) don’t spend to much on a rod/reel & tackle at first, instead try it and see if you like the sport, then later on you can upgrade/improve your kit as/when necessary or finances allow (B) Get out there and enjoy, practise casting, fishing in different spots etc, experience will come in time, and the more time you invest hopefully the more experience you will gain, don’t be afraid to ask questions & seek advise.
Lastly don’t be put off if you don’t catch nowt! Look upon catching a fish as a “bonus” to an otherwise relaxing sport. Fresh salt sea air, bit of sun always does the karma a world of good, beats being stuck at work any day!
Oh good luck & enjoy… |

| A warm welcome to the forum mate. As said in one of the previous potss dont spen a fortune on expensive gear until you know what suits you. You dont say wether your shore fishing, pier fishing or boat fishing so its difficult to advise you. Cheers keith |

Welcome Shenron. I do not know which area you are from. But if it is possible for you to join us at Cart Gap on Sunday. I think that there is going to be a mixture of experienced and new anglers. So would be a good place to see what others are doing and meet a load of great anglers at the same time. Just a suggestion, if it fits in. Check out Norfolk meet on East coast forum. Though I am sure that if you let any of the locals to where you want to fish know when you are going. There will be someone you can meet up with. Everyone is so helpful here.
Hope this helps, cheers, Ladyfish |
