hiya lads....

coming down to newquay next month to a campsite thats near holywell bay and was wondering if there is any where that i could have a chance at catching a ray or two?

i was thinking about fishing the beach at holywell at night is this a good idea ?

any info would be great!

I don't do much much beach fishing and haven't tried Holywell bay. There is plenty of venues nearby, try this website for ideas http://www.zen18975.zen.co.uk/ . Some venues are snaggy so expect to lose some tackle. Blue Anchor is sandy so you could try there. Good luck.

thought there be more replys than this does no1 else fish around newquay or even of the charter boats there.?

I havn't fished Holywell for lots of years, mind you I havn't fished anywhere for lots of years, but will change that soon i hope. But i remember catching a fair few bass to good size from there , and also a mate of mine has caught Ray from there in the past, if memory serves me correct using sand eel. There are a lot of Fishing marks arround the Newquay area. i also remember a Cove near crantock called "porth joke" where we used to catch the odd bass. Sorry I can't be of much help but my fishing was limited to walking distance from home mostly.
