Can anyone help?
Heard lots about Pagham and night fishing by the groynes and would like to try the area, popped down for a look in the daylight and couldnt park anywhere close.
Am i missing a car park anywhere near, went to the spit free car parking but the signs say it closes at 8.30pm.
As one of my mates cannot walk far - would hayling be more suitable for night fishing? |

I have fished Eastoke a couple of times in the last week. It really is fishing well. Tonnes of mackerel until it gets dark, and they are a great bait too, I had two bass on whole Joeys on Tuesday, including a 5 pounder(my biggest ever )
I also caught loads of small bream and smoothound pups.
I caught one 4lb smoothie too, on ragworm, I reckon there would be plenty more if you took some crab baits.
Park in the car park opposite the Life-Boat pub, which costs £1 per hour up 'till 20:00 and just walk down to the beach, it does get very busy with mackerel fishers catching bucket loads of fish which they probably just let go all mushy in the sun! |

| If you go to Inn on the Beach at Hayling you can park virtually on the beach and fish out of the car, same applies to the Funfair. Unfortunately if you arrive before 8 pm you will have to pay parking. If you want to do day fishing go to the Funfair because the car park there only charges £2 or often nowt during the week whereas most other places the Council will charge a fiver. |

| Ah well, Saturday night was a bit crap mate. We were at Eastoke Point and all we had on four rods were 2 schoolies and 2 Weevers. Almost certainly that big bright moon had a lot to do with it. Never done very well with a full bright moon, theory is that fish suspect that it's still day time and don't come in. Next thought is that if the water clears in the next few days and smooths out then there might be the odd plaice or gurnard during the day but you need to cast well out - can you do at least 100 yds? Presume that you know that coloured beads on snoods is the rig to use and worm only. BTW do you know about weevers because there are a few about and I wouldn't want you to finish up in Hospital like some bloke did last week. |

There were a few guys either side of us at eastoke, one came over and said they werent doing well so i guess it wasnt just us. Just disappointed cos i had some mates from Kent come over - after seeing recent catch reports i convinced them thet would be better fishing here than Deal, at least they enjoyed the chip shop while they were fishing.
Thanks for the tip on the weevers, had a few in the past but none around here. |
