I have took some time to read about re-useable lures to try and save some money.
I've invested in 2 dextor wedges (wich im quite comfortable on how to fish), a bag of jelly worms. and different sized sidewinder eel lures.

Is it quite likely to catch on these lures? And what is the best way to use them around the plymouth area?

with the worms came a bag of hooks with weighty heads on them, not sure what they're called. Im presuming i attatch my line to this, the worm to the hook and then cast out??? or do i need to use a weighted three way swivel as with other lures??

i use jellyworms on a running ledger rig which i cast and retrieve. sandeel used like this works better though. you are likely to get pollack and mackerel on them. I like using a Rapala J11 for bass. i would also invest in some toby and yann lures.

sorry did not know! its the easiest rig to tie, just put a link swivel onto the main line put a bead after it. tie another swivel onto the end of the line. once that is donw just add a length of line and a hook. i prefer using 2-3 foot of 20lb with a 2/0 aberdeen hook. i would guess that this would work well off devils point and mutton cove, i just have never tried it! but it will work at some of the rock marks around plymouth. good luck to you buddy i hope to see you around!

Going to give my jelly worms a try tonight. Ive been recomended a few different rigs wich people like to fish them on so hopefully ill get a few catches and ill be able to tell you which work best for me.

Really want to catch a pollock 2lb plus....... but i dont think that i'll get one from devils, but if i fish the surf off the rocks who knows, i might even get another bass instead.

Me and my brother fished from 18.30 till midnight and didnt catch a thing. Missed a few bites on my float as i was concentrating on using lures and jelly worms on my spinning rod. For last half hour before the tide got too strong i switched from float to bottom in the hope of a doggy or well anything just to make the night but just lost a few rigs.
Nevermind though. Either gonna try a different spot tonight or have a last attempt for another bass at devils tomorrow morning at first light.

Any recomendations on where to go for a night session tonight?
